Allison Shaw is the Director of Communications at Herzog & Schindler, where she brings more than a decade of experience in communications strategy, brand development, and digital marketing for public and private sector organizations.
With an emphasis on communications management and public affairs, Allison’s early career focused on effective community and media relations strategies for Denver Water, the constituent-owned utility. Her role expanded to include internal communications and the development of the award-winning “Use Only What You Need” advertising campaign. Based on this experience, she decided to pursue brand and marketing communications endeavors further.
The rapid emergence of social media, which demanded a more agile approach to marketing, evolved her skillset to include the deployment of macro and micro communications tactics that both reiterated and enriched brand narratives across channels and platforms. She has since produced, directed, and overseen communications, marketing, and brand strategies—involving custom combinations of public relations, digital strategy, art direction, copywriting, video production, event planning, and talent management—for the Denver Art Museum, the global entertainment company AXS Events, and the iconic interior design house F. Schumacher & Co. Allison attended the University of Denver, where she graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa and averaged 60+ days of skiing per year. Never one to miss out on a great concert, she spends most weekends (and the occasional school night) at venues around New York City. When not out seeing live music, she’s usually curled up with her beloved senior dog, Bo.
